These are the best beaches in Egypt

Choosing the best beaches in Egypt is a very subjective matter, as each traveler values them differently, depending on their expectations. Therefore, to make this top 5 of the best bathing areas, we have based ourselves on the proposals of the country’s tourism department and also on the opinions and reviews of the users themselves.

Among the top-rated destinations are Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada and Marsa Alam, of course. But to bring more variety to this list, we have chosen only one beach in each city, adding two additional proposals that also receive very good ratings from swimmers.

Shark’s Bay, at Sharm el-Sheikh

It is a small beach located in a bay, which dazzles its visitors because, in addition to its warm, calm and crystalline waters, it has a rich variety of fish. For this reason, it is one of the easiest places to practice snorkeling, a diving modality suitable for all members of the family. With little effort, it will be easy to spot Napoleon wrasse, parrot fish, scorpion fish… and much more.

Beaches of Giftun Island, in Hurghada

Giftun Island is one of the must-see excursions for those who spend a few days in Hurghada. In fact, through Egipto Exclusivo you can book this activity, which also includes a visit to Paradise Island. And there are numerous bathing areas, all of them spectacular. Therefore, it is impossible to choose one. Orange Bay, being the closest to the mainland coast, is one of the most frequented, but it also has other interesting bathing and relaxation areas, such as Nemo Bay.

Sharm el Luli, in Marsa Alam

Both Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada are popular holiday destinations, with numerous tourists throughout the year. However, if you are looking for less crowded areas, Marsa Alam can be a very interesting option. In fact, here are some of the best beaches in Egypt, such as Sharm el Luli, a virtually unspoiled bathing area as it is located in the Wadi El Gemal reserve, 50 km south of the city. In the absence of hotel infrastructure, those who wish to spend the night here will have to do so in a camping area set up for this purpose. Again, its main wealth is underwater, in this case in the form of colorful corals.

Zeytuna Beach, in El Gouna

If instead, what you like are quiet bathing areas but with resorts, beach bars, services and a coastline shaped by the hand of man, maybe your favorite beach is Zeytuna, located in El Gouna, north of Hurghada. It is actually a small sandy area of one of the many artificial islets that make up this holiday destination, but its atmosphere of promenades, terraces and walkways (one of them, a pier of more than 200 meters above the sea) will invite you to relax.

Agiba Beach, in Marsa Matruh

In this list of the best beaches in Egypt, those located in the Red Sea take the first places. But here we make room for a Mediterranean beach that also deserves to be in this ranking: we are talking about Agiba Beach, a bathing area that by the clarity of its waters could well seem the Red Sea. It is located about 25 km west of Marsa Matruh. In reality, it is more like a small cove because of its scarce 40 meters in length, and its rocky surroundings give it a very virgin aspect. At the top of the hill that flanks it there is a pleasant terrace bar to enjoy this beautiful Mediterranean corner of Egypt.
