Therefore, our staff will be waiting for you at the terminal to make the necessary border formalities and start the private transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Giza Pyramids - Saqqara - Dahshur

Already rested from the trip, we start the sightseeing of this great tour around Egypt and Jordan for 15 days. And they do it in style: after breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer you to the site of the necropolis of Giza, where the majestic Pyramids stand. The pharaohs Cheops, Kefren and Mycerinus, of the IV dynasty, left us this legacy 4,500 years ago, along with the Great Sphinx and other spaces full of symbolism.

But Giza is not the only necropolis to visit on this second day: after it we will go to Saqqara, where the Step Pyramid of Zoser, considered the first of that civilization, is located. And a little further on, in the necropolis of Dahshur, we will contemplate the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid, of enormous historical importance. Three necropolises that, as it could not be otherwise, are Unesco World Heritage Sites.

We will visit mainly in the morning, and lunch at a local restaurant will give us energy for the rest of the day. The afternoon will be free, back in Cairo, and the night will be spent at the same hotel as the previous night.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Cairo
  • Visit of the necropolis of Giza
  • Visit to the necropolis of Saqqara
  • Visit to the necropolis of Dahshur
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Free afternoon
  • Overnight in hotel in Cairo

Day 3: Cairo

The capital of Egypt, Cairo, will be the protagonist of the third day, as we will visit its most emblematic places after breakfast at the hotel. One of these places is the Egyptian Museum, so important to understand and admire the Pharaonic civilization.

But the Cairo neighborhoods have much to offer the visitor, and we will focus on two. The first is the Coptic Quarter, so called because of its special relevance in the early days of Christianity. Churches such as the Hanging Church or St. Sergius Church, as well as other buildings of different character, such as the historic Ben Ezra Synagogue, are proof of this.

The second neighborhood to discover is Islamic Cairo, declared a World Heritage Site for such unique places as the Jan el-Jalili Bazaar, the Citadel of Saladin or the Alabaster Mosque. They reflect the period of splendor that this city experienced in periods as different as the Middle Ages or the nineteenth century, under Ottoman domination but open to the world by the incipient Egyptological fever.

It will be an intense day, as such a capital city deserves, which also has quality restaurants. Lunch, included in the program, will be taken in one of them. At the end of the day, you will return to the hotel for a night’s rest.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Cairo
  • Full time in Cairo:
    • Egyptian Museum
    • Coptic Quarter
    • Islamic Cairo
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Overnight in hotel in Cairo

Day 4: Cairo - Aswan

On this fourth day of the tour, we move from Lower to Upper Egypt, that is, we will travel to the south of the country. For this, our agency’s driver will pick you up after breakfast to transfer you to Cairo Airport. From there, the flight will take off to Aswan, where another representative of our agency will meet you at the airport.

Once in Aswan, our driver will take you directly to the Temple of Isis in Philae, one of the most beautiful and unknown temples in the country. This construction, dating from the 4th century B.C. and renovated in later centuries, is considered the last great work of that civilization. Now, after having been moved to the current island, it looks radiant, with the pride of having the title of World Heritage Site.

After admiring its beauty, it will be time to check in at the accommodation that will be your home for three nights: the Nile cruise boat. For the time being, it will be a first contact, without starting the navigation but enjoying lunch on board.

The afternoon is free, ideal for a leisurely tour of Aswan before returning to the ship for dinner and rest in the cabin, while the ship remains moored in port.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Cairo
  • Transfer to Cairo Airport
  • Flight Cairo – Aswan
  • Meeting with our staff at the Aswan Airport

Day 5: Aswan - Abu Simbel - Kom Ombo - Edfu

In the 15 days of this circuit through Egypt and JordanThe fifth will be the earliest start: we will get up early to arrive at a good time to the temples of Abu Simbel. In fact, breakfast will not be taken on board the ship, but in a Breakfast Box during the road trip.

But the effort will be worth it: these constructions are the symbol of the splendor of Pharaoh Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. They were erected here after a pharaonic move in the 60s of the last century, when the waters of Lake Nasser threatened to flood everything after the construction of the Aswan Dam. Today they are a World Heritage Site and one of the great attractions of the country.

After visiting Abu Simbel, we will also return by road to Aswan to get back on board the ship to start sailing and have lunch on board. This cruise is one of the favorite experiences among visitors to Egypt, due to the beauty of the surroundings and the majesty of the temples to be visited along the shore. The first, that of Kom Ombo from the Ptolemaic period, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, who is also the protagonist in the attached museum.

After visiting both sites, we will continue the river crossing along the Nile until we reach Edfu. In the port of that city, the ship will be moored to enjoy dinner and a good night’s rest on board.

  • Breakfast in Breakfast Box
  • Road trip to Abu Simbel
  • Return to the cruise ship

Day 6: Edfu - Luxor

On the sixth day of this circuit you will wake up in the port of Edfu and, on board the ship, you will have breakfast. With no time to lose, we will go to the spectacular temple of this same city, one of the most grandiose of all Ancient Egypt. It is dedicated to the god Horus and, therefore, there are numerous references to the animal with which it is associated, the falcon, protector of hunting and the pharaohs.

With the images of the great hypostyle hall, its gigantic pylons and other areas of the enclosure still in our minds, we will return to the ship to face the last leg of the navigation to Luxor. We will arrive there in the central hours of the day, having lunch on board. But upon arrival, we will not leave the ship, but we will go out to discover the eastern shore of this city, formerly called Thebes.

The temples of Karnak, the temple of Luxor, the Avenue of the Sphinxes… The list of places of interest in this sector is enormous, especially for lovers of Ancient Egypt. And in the final stretch of the day, we will return to the cruise ship to have dinner and enjoy the last night’s rest in the cabin.

  • Visit to the Temple of Edfu
  • Continuation of navigation to Luxor
  • Visit of the eastern bank of Luxor: Karnak and Temple of Luxor
  • Dinner and overnight on board, at Luxor harbor

Day 7: Luxor - Cairo

The third breakfast on board is the last one you will have on the ship, after which you will check-out. But in this case, the transfer will not be direct to Luxor Airport, but before that, an intense program of visits to the western shore awaits us.

In this sector of the city is where the most important necropolis of ancient Thebes, which was the capital of the country during the Middle and New Empires, were located. Therefore, a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the great necropolis of the area, especially since the XVIIIth Dynasty, is a must. We will choose three tombs from among those open that day, and admire the wealth with which the pharaohs intended to travel to the Beyond.

The Colossi of Memnon and, above all, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari will complete a most interesting morning. After that, it will be time for the transfer to Luxor Airport and, from there, the flight to the capital, where you will be met by the staff of our agency to take you to the central hotel where you will spend the night.
