Therefore, our staff will be waiting for you at the terminal to make the necessary border formalities and start the private transfer to the hotel.

Upon arrival, you will check-in and receive an informative briefing about the circuit and the countries to be visited. Day 2: Pyramids of Giza and Grand Egyptian Museum

The second day of this combined tour of Egypt and Morocco is actually the first with visits to monuments. And we’re starting big, because after breakfast we’ll head to Giza to discover the most important features of its famous necropolis.

Of course, the great symbol of this place are the Pyramids of Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure, built four millennia ago to house the tombs of these pharaohs. The Great Sphinx acts here as an eternal sentinel, awakening the admiration of all travelers, just as it did centuries ago with such varied figures as Herodotus and Napoleon Bonaparte. And the rest of the archaeological remains are also of enormous interest, especially if visited with an expert guide, as will be the case here.

The visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum will also be guided: a spectacular, recently created museum where invaluable pieces from that civilization are exhibited. Among the treasures that leave visitors speechless are the jewels and works of art from Tutankhamun’s tomb, displayed here in its entirety: his golden throne, his golden mask, his sarcophagus… But there is much more, such as colossal statues, Cheops’ solar boat, the Stela of Restoration… and so on, with almost 20,000 pieces on display.

Lunch on this day will take place at a local restaurant in Giza, at a convenient time, and in the afternoon, after a very intense day, you will return to Cairo and then rest at the same hotel as the night before.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Cairo
  • Visit of the necropolis of Giza
  • Visit to the Great Egyptian Museum
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Overnight in hotel in Cairo

Day 3: Cairo

Before leaving Cairo, this tour dedicates the necessary time to explore the most important parts of the city: its historic center, with great Islamic and Christian monuments, mainly.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to the first place of interest: the Citadel of Saladin. Inside this fortified enclosure from the 12th and 13th centuries, you can admire later constructions, mainly from the 19th century. At the beginning of that century, the Mosque of Alabasterwas erected, at the wish of Mehmet Ali: his lavish tomb in Carrara marble is located here, as we will see during the visit, as it is open to tourists of any faith. The Citadel of Saladin is integrated into ‘Historic Cairo’, a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO.

That same recognition is given to the other great space of Historic Cairo: the Islamic Quarter. In addition to mosques and picturesque civil constructions, this neighborhood houses the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, a huge traditional market that has its roots in the 14th century. Varied crafts coexist here with stalls of typical gastronomy and endless characteristic shops, which give a special atmosphere to the whole.

Further south is the Coptic Quarter, which is the area of reference for Cairenes of Christian religion. Not in vain, churches that we will see on our itinerary are located here or in its immediate surroundings, such as the Church of Saint George or the Cave Church. And in all of them, regardless of their invocation, it is remembered that the Holy Family passed through here during their Flight to Egypt.

The program for this day is, therefore, quite complete. And to recharge energy during the day, lunch will be offered in a characteristic place, at the time that is considered most appropriate. And at the end of the day, a new night of rest in the city hotel.

  • Breakfast at hotel in Cairo
  • Full time in Cairo:
    • Citadel and Mosque of Alabaster
    • Coptic Quarter
    • Islamic Cairo
  • Lunch at local restaurant
  • Overnight in hotel in Cairo

Day 4: Cairo - Aswan

On this fourth day of the tour, we move from Lower to Upper Egypt, that is, we will travel to the south of the country. For this, our agency’s driver will pick you up after breakfast to transfer you to Cairo Airport. From there, the flight will take off to Aswan, where another representative of our agency will meet you at the airport.

Once in Aswan, our driver will take you directly to the Temple of Isis in Philae, one of the most beautiful and unknown temples in the country. This construction, dating from the 4th century B.C. and renovated in later centuries, is considered the last great work of that civilization. Now, after having been moved to the current island, it looks radiant, with the pride of having the title of World Heritage Site.

After admiring its beauty, it will be time to check in at the accommodation that will be your home for three nights: the Nile cruise boat. For the time being, it will be a first contact, without starting the navigation but enjoying lunch on board.

The afternoon is free, ideal for a leisurely tour of Aswan before returning to the ship for dinner and rest in the cabin, while the ship remains moored in port.

Day 5: Aswan - Abu Simbel - Kom Ombo - Edfu

In the 15 days of this circuit through Egypt and JordanThe fifth will be the earliest start: we will get up early to arrive at a good time to the temples of Abu Simbel. In fact, breakfast will not be taken on board the ship, but in a Breakfast Box during the road trip.

But the effort will be worth it: these constructions are the symbol of the splendor of Pharaoh Ramses II and his wife Nefertari. They were erected here after a pharaonic move in the 60s of the last century, when the waters of Lake Nasser threatened to flood everything after the construction of the Aswan Dam. Today they are a World Heritage Site and one of the great attractions of the country.

After visiting Abu Simbel, we will also return by road to Aswan to get back on board the ship to start sailing and have lunch on board. This cruise is one of the favorite experiences among visitors to Egypt, due to the beauty of the surroundings and the majesty of the temples to be visited along the shore. The first, that of Kom Ombo from the Ptolemaic period, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, who is also the protagonist in the attached museum.

After visiting both sites, we will continue the river crossing along the Nile until we reach Edfu. In the port of that city, the ship will be moored to enjoy dinner and a good night’s rest on board.

On the sixth day of this circuit you will wake up in the port of Edfu and, on board the ship, you will have breakfast. With no time to lose, we will go to the spectacular temple of this same city, one of the most grandiose of all Ancient Egypt. It is dedicated to the god Horus and, therefore, there are numerous references to the animal with which it is associated, the falcon, protector of hunting and the pharaohs.

With the images of the great hypostyle hall, its gigantic pylons and other areas of the enclosure still in our minds, we will return to the ship to face the last leg of the navigation to Luxor. We will arrive there in the central hours of the day, having lunch on board. But upon arrival, we will not leave the ship, but we will go out to discover the eastern shore of this city, formerly called Thebes.

The temples of Karnak, the temple of Luxor, the Avenue of the Sphinxes… The list of places of interest in this sector is enormous, especially for lovers of Ancient Egypt. And in the final stretch of the day, we will return to the cruise ship to have dinner and enjoy the last night’s rest in the cabin.

  • Visit to the Temple of Edfu
  • Continuation of navigation to Luxor
  • Visit of the eastern bank of Luxor: Karnak and Temple of Luxor
  • Dinner and overnight on board, at Luxor harbor

Day 7: Luxor - Cairo

The third breakfast on board is the last one you will have on the ship, after which you will check-out. But in this case, the transfer will not be direct to Luxor Airport, but before that, an intense program of visits to the western shore awaits us.

In this sector of the city is where the most important necropolis of ancient Thebes, which was the capital of the country during the Middle and New Empires, were located. Therefore, a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the great necropolis of the area, especially since the XVIIIth Dynasty, is a must. We will choose three tombs from among those open that day, and admire the wealth with which the pharaohs intended to travel to the Beyond.

The Colossi of Memnon and, above all, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari will complete a most interesting morning.
