Peru-Egypt Flights
Given the enormous distance between the two countries, to travel to Egypt from Peru you must take a flight. And none of the available options are direct: all existing routes involve,
The duration of the journeys depends on the route itself, ranging between 21 hours for the shortest. On the other hand, if one more stopover is added, the total duration of the journey can be 25 hours for the shortest flights and from 30 hours for the longest.
The advantage of opting for routes with two stopovers is that the final price of the ticket can be significantly cheaper, with prices that can start from 5,700 soles. However, the specific price of each ticket will depend on factors as different as the date, the airlines that are part of the route or the advance with which the ticket is purchased.
Another advantage is that, with two stopovers, it is more feasible to land at airports other than Cairo, either by an internal flight from the capital or by a direct flight from another country, as airports such as Luxor or Sharm el-Sheikh are connected to the airport of the capital but also with other international cities, such as the aforementioned Istanbul airport or those of Paris-Charles de Gaulle or London Heathrow, among many others.
Visa in Egypt for Peruvian Citizens?
Yes, Peruvian citizens, like those of most countries in the world, need a visa to enter Egypt and visit the country. Only citizens of some Arab states with which Egypt has an agreement can avoid this procedure and enter without a visa.
However, obtaining a tourist visa is very simple, as it can be obtained online through the official website of Egypt: it is an e-visa that is obtained by providing the basic data of the trip and the traveler, and paying the corresponding fees. Specifically, there are two types of visas:
- Single visa: $25
- Multiple entry visa: $60
The basic requirements to obtain the e-visa is to have a passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the date of entry to the country, a scheduled travel itinerary, the accommodation reservation (or failing that, a letter of recommendation from the relatives or friends who will host the travelers). And once the e-visa is obtained, it is required to print it to always carry it with you.
